Is SBR the same as PVA?
No, SBR (Styrene-Butadiene Rubber) and PVA (Polyvinyl Acetate) have distinct characteristics and uses. SBR is water-resistant and enhances the durability and chemical resistance of cement-based materials, making it ideal for damp environments such as exteriors, showers, and pools. It's also recommended for tiling in wet conditions. PVA, however, remains water-soluble after drying and is less suitable for areas exposed to moisture. It is primarily used as a primer for plastering and is resistant to many chemicals, but it's not advisable for tiling as it can revert to liquid form when wet.
