Melcourt Playbark is a premium pine bark-based loose impact absorbing surface (LIAS), ideal for playgrounds and play areas with equipment such as slides, climbing frames, and space nets.
Graded to a nominal particle size of 10–40mm, it is clean, virtually dust-free, and contains less than 5% wood content by volume, ensuring a safe and consistent surface.
Reddish-brown in colour with a natural, attractive appearance, Playbark provides a durable surfacing solution with a lifespan of 3 to 5 years or more.
It is specifically designed for playgrounds where children are up to 6 years old and meets BS EN 1176 standards for play area safety, with additional testing confirming high fire resistance (BS 4790:1987).
This free-draining material is not affected by frost and offers strong resistance to wind erosion, making it suitable for year-round outdoor use.
