TG Builders’ Merchants Named One of Shropshire’s Fastest-Growing Businesses

TG Builders’ Merchants is celebrating a major achievement after being ranked 24th in the Top 50 fastest-growing businesses in Shropshire, according to the 2019 Shropshire Growth Report by BDO.

The annual report, compiled by leading accountancy and advisory firm BDO, highlights companies that are thriving across the county and performing strongly in their individual sectors.

Recognition for Sustainable Growth

Mark Evans, General Manager of TG Builders’ Merchants, said the recognition is a testament to the team’s commitment to service, quality, and continuous development.

A Year of Expansion

The business, part of the family-owned Tudor Griffiths Group, has seen strong growth over the past year:

  • 15 new staff hired, bringing the team to 127 employees

  • Five new delivery vehicles added to the fleet, totalling 26 vehicles

  • Continued investment across its eight branches in Bridgnorth, Chester, Ellesmere, Kidderminster, Nantwich, Northwich, Oswestry, and Welshpool

TG Builders’ Merchants has also been shortlisted nationally at the Builders’ Merchants Awards for its outstanding customer service.

Supporting a Stronger Local Economy

BDO praised the wide range of industries featured in the Top 50 report, noting that this diversity strengthens the regional economy. The inclusion of a builders’ merchant in the rankings demonstrates the sector’s vital role in local growth and development.

TG Group, the wider company, operates:

  • 2 sand and gravel quarries
